Calliope Events was founded in 2015 by Debi Sas and Christine Blasl (mother and daughter), inspired by a shared passion for creating beautifully orchestrated celebrations.

Owner / Lead Planner
Debi holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Management and brings over 20 years of experience as a human resources professional. Her expertise includes planning corporate events ranging from intimate gatherings of 200 to large-scale functions exceeding 1,000 attendees.
For a decade, Debi also led the planning of a major church event, coordinating logistics for over 5,000 guests. Her passion for event coordination and keen attention to detail led her to co-found Calliope Events with Christine in 2015, where she now specializes in bringing dream weddings to life with seamless execution and personalized touches.
Senior Coordinator
Christine holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Hardin-Simmons University and is a NECI Certified Wedding Planner. With over a decade of experience in both human resources and wedding planning, she brings exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating unforgettable events.
Her ability to seamlessly coordinate logistics, manage vendors, and bring a client’s vision to life has made her a trusted expert. Whether orchestrating a flawless wedding day or handling the finer details behind the scenes, Christine is dedicated to making every event a beautiful and stress-free experience.
Assistant Coordinator
Emily joined Calliope Events in 2023, bringing a dynamic background in event planning, customer service, management, and administration. She holds a BBA degree with a focus on marketing and human resources, combining strategic insight with a keen eye for detail.
With a strong knack for managing complex logistics, Emily ensures that every event runs seamlessly. Her dedication to organization and her passion for creating memorable experiences make her an invaluable part of the Calliope Events team.
Assistant Coordinator
Aubree joined Calliope Events in 2024, bringing a fresh perspective and a passion for organization. She recently earned her Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology and is also a 2025 bride, giving her firsthand insight into the wedding planning experience.
Her volunteer work with ZOI ORA FILOS and SERTOMA honed her skills in managing large groups, organizing events, and mastering time management—essential qualities for an assistant coordinator. Aubree’s attention to detail and ability to keep everything running smoothly make her a valuable asset to the Calliope Events team.
